The stress experienced by high school students today is greater than anything experienced in the past. Between taking AP classes, honors classes, having extracurricular activities, participating in activities that will look good on college resumes, working a part-time job, and then finding time for homework in the midst of that, life can be stressful. Because of this, teens are experiencing high school burnout. And if not recognized by parents, this burnout can lead to poorer performance in school as well as a lack of motivation to try. As such, if parents know what high school burnout is and know the signs of it, they can help their teens cope.
