Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

On Friday, the Renascence School International students celebrated Moon Festival by sampling moon cake and making traditional Chinese crafts. Moon Festival is one of the most important traditional events in China.  This harvest festival is similar to Thanksgiving in the US. On this day, Chinese family members and friends gather to eat moon cakes and pomelos. There are additional cultural and regional customs including carrying lanterns. The students made their own lanterns in celebration of this special holiday.
