For kids who have special needs, writing up a 504 plan or an IEP is done without blinking an eye. Kids who are deemed gifted are either given more rigorous class work to do, are encouraged to take college classes while still enrolled in public school, or even skip grades to get them on par where they are educationally. But when a child is both special needs and gifted, it is not quite as clear as to how to help kids in school. And this is why parents need to step in so that they can help their 2e child thrive in school.
