Outside the Box – Christy Johnson

On Fridays, the Level 10 students have been enjoying fun and engaging creativity activities.  Shereen Mashaly, one of the parents at the Renascence School International taught the students about Egyptian hieroglyphics. In Mrs. Seller’s English Class they have been reading The Magic Treehouse series and have been incorporating each book that they read into a different creativity activity. The adventure in hieroglyphics went along with Mummies in the Morning, one of the books from The Magic Treehouse series. Hieroglyphics are word pictures which represent the sounds of the Ancient Egyptian language. What a great way to instill a love of reading and foster creativity!
